Project ACE Presents at CAHR 2025 Conference in Halifax
We are proud to share that Project ACE was featured at the 2025 Canadian Association for HIV Research (CAHR) Conference in Halifax, held from May 1–4. Our team presented both a poster and an oral presentation showcasing the impact of the multi-phase ACE model in building capacity among service providers and community leaders to reduce HIV-related stigma across multiple cities in Canada.
The oral presentation, entitled “Building Capacity in HIV Stigma Reduction Among Service Providers & Community Leaders” led by Folasade Olaniyan, highlighted the outcomes of our Phase Two intervention, which combined self-paced e-learning modules, group dialogue sessions, and mindfulness-based practices. Participants reported transformative personal growth, renewed confidence, and deeper connection to their values. The presentation also emphasized the emotional impact and shared leadership experiences of Phase 2 facilitators, underscoring how committed, values-driven action can foster individual and collective resilience.
Our poster presentation “Meaningful and Equitable Engagement of Community Collaborators to Promote HIV Championship” focused on meaningful and equitable engagement of community collaborators, detailing the recruitment of 55 participants and collaboration with over 20 community organizations. Key lessons included the importance of clear communication, equitable compensation, and trust-building in mobilizing HIV champions within diverse communities.
We invite you to view both the oral presentation slides and poster to learn more about our approach and insights.
